As Rising Stars is the introduction into the sport of figure at a more advanced pace – proper figure skates are required (hockey skates and “plastic” skates are no longer permitted). Skaters are also now expected to wear the proper attire to help create a safer environment for themselves and others around them. For more information follow our “Equipment Info.” page.
Rising Stars
Rising Stars is our transitional program designed for motivated Stage 6 CanSkate skaters who are preparing to enter STARSkate. Skaters will participate in both group and individualized instruction led by an NCCP Certified Coach, allowing them to further develop their skills while building confidence for STAR 1. This program also introduces skaters to assessments and competition opportunities while providing additional training to help ensure a successful transition into STARSkate.
Pre-Requisites
- Completed CanSkate level 5 or by invite via the Head Coach
- Helmets required until the full completion of CanSkate level 5 (via the assessment of the head coach)
- Skaters are now required to have proper figure skates
- A good learning and listening attitude
What’s Next
Once all of CanSkate stage 6 has been completed (via the assessment of the head coach) skaters will move onto our Jr. StarSkate program.
